Verdea Jazz Cádiz

Faced with the increasingly urgent need to apply sustainable and responsible policies in cultural industries, the Jazzcadiz Festival joins this path undertaken by the cultural sector to do its bit. From the JazzCádiz team we have addressed different measures in this regard in recent years, such as using the Orange Bikes as the official vehicle of the festival or implementing recyclable cups, with the benefit of the NGO Iguales en Acción.

In our last 14th edition we presented the label “Verdea JazzCádiz” dedicated specifically to this topic. For this conference we rely on the material prepared by environmental experts, the consultant PRySMA with Joseba Urraza and Ainhoa del Caso. la consultora PRySMA con Joseba Urraza y Ainhoa del Caso.

In November 2021, we attended the AJC Reencontres event (Paris, France)) in which we witnessed how French festivals are already measuring their carbon footprint and acting accordingly. In 2022, and as members of PJE, the National Association of Jazz Festivals of Spain, we came into contact with the European project of Footprints, Sustainable Music Across Europe, in which we entered a European project 2023-2025 that will allow us to do our more sustainable industry.

This year 2022 we convene a thematic table within the III Forum JazzCádiz in which we continue to take steps in this area.

CONFERENCE: ‘VERDEA JAZZCÁDIZ. Environmental sustainability initiatives in festivals’’

In this conference we will talk about the Action Plan for the adaptation of music festivals to the Sustainable Development Goals that marks the European Agenda 2030, a study carried out by Gabeira y Asociados Consulting. We leave you the document here:

On the other hand, in this JazzCádiz 2022 edition, the Orange Bikes provide a wonderful initiative related to recycling within the activities of the III Forum JazzCádiz that they will share with us at the conference.
