The Brazilian northeast is the region of this great country that, being inhabited since prehistory, served as a gateway and mixture between the indigenous peoples that inhabited it and the different cultures, mostly from Africa and Europe. Perhaps the origin of samba refers to this region that gave life to the baião, forró, maracatú, and whose expansion was and continues to be a source of life, art and cultural wealth. The musician and trumpeter Julián Sánchez will teach us some songs of Brazilian folklore and will share the connections he has made with this very important cultural port of South America based on his experiences during his last years as an “adopted northeasterner” and his recent album BRAZULADA.
